Packaging Guide

Pack It Right the First Time

The packaging habits that prevent the most delays.

Most clearance and handling delays don't come from regulations — they come from packaging that wasn't matched to what's inside it. Here's how to pack by cargo type, plus a quick do's and don'ts checklist.

Packaging by Cargo Type

Match the box to what's actually inside.

Fragile Goods

Glass, Ceramics, Artwork

Double-wall boxes, foam or bubble padding on every side, "This Side Up" labeling.

Electronics

Devices, Components

Anti-static packaging, original manufacturer boxing where possible, moisture protection.

Liquids

Chemicals, Cosmetics, Beverages

Leak-proof sealing, absorbent lining, upright orientation markings, UN-rated containers where required.

Bulk & Palletized

Large or Heavy Loads

Shrink-wrapped pallets, weight-rated banding, corner protectors to prevent shifting in transit.

Quick Checklist

Do this, skip that.

Do

  • Use rigid, appropriately-sized boxes for the weight inside
  • Label fragile or hazardous items clearly on all sides
  • Include a copy of the invoice inside and outside the package
  • Double-check the destination address against your booking

Don't

  • Reuse damaged boxes with old labels still visible
  • Leave restricted or dangerous goods undeclared
  • Guess at customs values — under-declaring causes delays
  • Wait until pickup day to prepare your documents
